This is a comment on Daniel’s most recent No more Strangers post. I could find no where else to post it or register so I could.

I agree with Daniiel. Especially if you were raised in a very small, almost completely Mormon community. There were absolutely no exceptions for how you were to see yourself. You were next to a murderur and were reminded every week of your place in the plan of salvation without exception. I did not get out when I should have and have spent 41 years in the closet just to please my god and keep my temple recommend. I am still as worthy of it as any straight member. Attitudes within my region of Mormonism are definitely black and white and the church’s new tolerance campaign has not changed them at all. I see some hope in the larger cities, but if I were to come out to more than my parents who said I have destroyed them, I would be subjected to the same treatment as was received in the ’60’s. if someone would like to help all gay people, making safe places in the small towns of Utah would be a good place to start. Until you have been assaulted, molested, and abused without consequence, you have little right to speak about the actual plight of your gay brothers and sisters.

I am curious if anyone knows if there is a forum for conversation about LDS SSA.

This is a wonderful and important site.

You may want to add ‘A Letter to an Apostle’ to your links. It is highly supportive of LGBTQ issues.
